Krishnan crushes in April tourney
Das Krishnan punched his ticket to Saipan Golfers Association’s season-ending Ace of Aces Tournament after topping the April Ace of the Month Tournament last April 24 at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort east course.
The 69-year-old banquet manager at Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan shot a net score of 71 following a 43 in the back nine and a 39 in the back nine for a gross score of 82.
“The weather was hot and fairways were dry but I held the game in control. I do not challenge the players but the course,” he said when asked how were the tourney conditions last April ace.
He then dedicated his victory to his wife, Alice Law.
Ed Sablan actually tied Krishnan for the top spot in April after also carding a net 71 built around gross of 95 (47-48), while John Matsumoto and Frances Sablan came in tied at third place with identical net 72s (Matsumoto, 47-48 for a gross of 95 and Sablan 55-46 for a gross of 102).
Krishnan now joins the 2024 SGA Ace of Aces Tournament qualifiers Larry Deleon Guerrero (January), Alex Tudela (February), and Nick Sablan (March).
In the closest to the pin, Jung Eun Teack beat all comers on hole No. 4, while Ed Manibusan topped hole No. 6.
Tony Reyes and Nick Sablan then did the trick in holes No. 11 and 15, respectively.
Ed Sablan brought the lumber in the longest drive contest in hole No. 3, while Larry Deleon Guerrero did the same in hole No. 10.
