Lady Blue Jays vs. BDE in softball finals

The Lady Blue Jays and BDE punched their ticket to the finals of the 2024 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association league women’s division after their win in the semis last Sunday at the Dandan Softball Field.

The Lady Blue Jays took on Bat & Boujee and won, 13-9, while BDE defeated 670 Magas Babes, 7-4.

A rally by the Lady Blue Jays in the fifth and seventh inning secured their win after they were down, 7-9 in the fourth. The Lady Blue Jays actually had a 7-2 lead in the third, but Bat & Boujee’s offense exploded in the fourth and put up seven runs.

However, the Lady Blue Jays put their heads down and got to work in the fifth and Christy Aldan, Angel Deleon Guerrero, Alannah Sablan, and Britney Gopez scored four runs to take the lead back, 11-9.

Bat & Boujee then couldn’t score a run in the last three innings as the Lady Blue Jays added two more in the seventh to seal the deal by a margin of 4 runs.

In the BDE and 670 Magas Babes game, BDE took the lead in the third and stuck with it. By the fourth, they were up, 6-4, as the Babes tried their best to get on base.

BDE pitcher Jovie Omar had other plans though and proceeded to shut down the Babes’ lineup from the fifth through the seventh. For good measure, BDE’s Allana Sumang added one more run and eventually wrapped up the game with a 7-4 final.

Game 1 of the women’s division finals is set for this Sunday, April 21 at 2pm. Game 2 and 3 (if needed) are set for April 28.
