Lady Sufa pummels Boleras, 11-1
Lady Sufa pummeled Boleras, 11-1, in the 2024 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association women’s division last Sunday at the Dandan Softball Field.
Lady Sufa exploded in the second as they scored all of their runs in that inning. Hit after hit became an RBI opportunity as Boleras’ defense and pitching took a beating.
From middle of the pack Miyah Duenas to Evita Maratita at the bottom of the lineup, to the top and then back down again, Lady Sufa scored 11 runs against Boleras pitching staff.
The lone run for the Boleras came in the fifth inning by way of Eva Lizama. Only six hits registered for the Boleras against Lady Sufa’s pitcher, Evita Maratita.
BDE had a tougher time against 670 Magas Babes, as they won by the skin of their teeth, 14-13.
BDE had a productive first inning as they scored five consecutive runs from the top of their lineup for an early lead. The Babes then scrounged up just one run to make it 1-5.
The Babes’ bats came to life in the second and third inning with a total of nine runs scored for a 10-6 lead over BDE, but BDE replied quickly in the fourth. Allana Sumang, Becky Repeki, Keina Rogopes, Keyona Tudela, Jovie Omar, Tara Muna, Levayna Ngirablosch, and Beatrice all scored to overtake the lead, 14-10.
The Babes then scored three more in the fifth to get within one, 13-14, but with the last at-bat as the home team, they failed to deliver in the final inning.
In the game between Lady Blue Jays and Bat & Boojie, the Ladies managed to slip past by just one run, 3-2. Kiana “Baby K” Camacho hit the game winning two-RBI homer in their last at-bat, as the Bat & Boojie’s tried to walk it off in the last inning.
Lady Blue Jays pitcher Angel Deleon Guerrero held them down though as only two runs scored from Rosie Saralu and Janica Iguel for Bat & Boojie.
Results of the men’s division will be posted in the next issues of Saipan Tribune.
