Masters Preseason Basketball League this Saturday

It’s time for the masters to lace up their basketball shoes as the NMIBF Masters Preseason Basketball League is set for this Saturday, Feb. 3, 6:30pm at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.

The game between Latte Built and A Plus Team is right after the NMIBF Marianas Arsenal 3×3 Basketball Series finals.

Currently, there are five teams—Latte Built, A Plus Team, Old Aces, OG Aces, and Hoopaholics.

Northern Mariana Islands Basketball Federation president James Lee said that it is just a preseason internal league, so there won’t be any trophies, playoffs, or finals. There is no entrance fee, but all players will pay $4 per game on a “pay-to-play” basis.

It will be a round-robin format for the five teams, then will be open to teams that want to join. It will restart another round-robin again, then repeat until mid-August for the actual start of the season.

Teams interested need to submit their waiver forms and roster to the NMIBF. Players need to be 40 years old and above, and need to have at least the same color top with number for their team uniforms.

Lee is inviting all masters players—40 and above—to come out and play.

The rest of the schedule has yet to be fixed, but the next game after this should be on Saturday, Feb. 10, also at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
