Micronesia Mall ‘Glow Run’ draws over 1,200
The Micronesia Mall celebrated its 35th year of serving the community of Guam by holding an ’80s-themed 3.5-mile “Glow Run” last Sept. 17 that drew more than 1,200 community members.
The participants included 972 registered runners, their families, visitors, and fun seekers alike. Micronesia Mall’s 3.5-mile “Glow Run” was a neon dusk run and featured exciting raffle with over 200 prizes, including three roundtrip tickets on Philippine Airlines, Family fun activities including face painting by Muse Guam, an ’80s costume contest and selfie booth, some of Guam’s most popular food trucks, and live music performance by DJ Ron G Swift and Prominence. Participants also received a ditty bag and event shirt.
Organizers said the event was “a success and great fun for everyone!”
Micronesia Mall will be donating the proceeds from the “Glow Run” to three local beneficiaries—Alee Shelter, Island Girl Power, and the Guam Coalition Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence.
“The island has many cases of domestic violence. We support organizations which help young girls and women who have been victims of domestic and sexual violence. We also support organizations that promote positive role models for young women and families,” said Micronesia Mall president and CEO Jeselyn “Gigi” Tan Yu.
The check presentation will take place at Micronesia Mall’s Center Court on Sunday, Oct. 15, 1pm.
Each organization will be present to receive a $3,000 donation to their program and conduct outreach and education to the community from 12pm to 4pm.
This event is presented by Micronesia Mall with the help of major sponsor Guam Running Club to conclude its Glow Run event. (PR)
