Newly appointed Senate JGL Committee chair says they’re now ready

Sen. Karl R. King-Nabors (R-Tinian), the newly appointed chairman of the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Government and Law, has appointed members to serve on the committee.

King-Nabors notified Senate President Edith E. DeLeon Guerrero (D-Saipan) Wednesday that with the full committee members on hand, they are ready and committed to fulfilling their duties and responsibilities as outlined in the Senate interim rules.

The chairman appointed Sen. Dennis C. Mendiola (R-Rota) as vice chairman, and Sens. Corina L. Magofna (Ind-Saipan), Francisco Q. Cruz (R-Tinian), Donald M. Manglona (Ind-Rota), and Jude U. Hofschneider (R-Tinian) as members.

Citing numerous pending bills and not holding a committee meeting for eight months, DeLeon Guerrero on Tuesday removed Sen. Celina R. Babauta (D-Saipan) as chairwoman of the JGL Committee.
