Old B Bank, Hana FC locks in 1st win of MSL 2
Old B Bank and Hana Football Club locked in their first win of the Marianas Soccer League 2 Spring 2024 season last Sunday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
Old B Bank was locked and loaded and blanked Shirley’s FC, 11-0 in the first MLS 2 game of the day.
They were a well-oiled machine as all parts worked properly and in harmony, with nine of their 11 goals spread between nine players. Lin Xiao Feng set the tone early on with a goal in the second minute, while Aliilua Peteru notched the second goal in the 15th minute.
The first half came and went quietly without any more goals from Old B Bank and the pressure was on for Shirley’s to get on the scoreboard. It wasn’t meant to be though as Old B Bank continued what they started and pelted Shirley’s keeper with consecutive goals.
Feng and Peteru scored one more goal each, while John Canape scored two goals later as well, and Ruselle Zapanta, Benedicto Lizama, Raphael Zapanta, Rex De Jose, and Reginald Pascual scored a goal each.
In Hana’s game versus MP United FC, both teams struggled for possession throughout. The first goal didn’t break through until the 15th minute by Scott Kim and three minutes later, by Saeronara Kim.
MP United couldn’t keep possession long enough to push for the goal, and left the first half empty handed. MP United tried to regroup as best as they could in the second half, but only found the net in the 42nd minute from a goal made by James Salalila.
At that point, however, Hana had scored their third goal of the game just three minutes prior. MP United went on to fumble the ball throughout the game and fell, 3-1.
