Over 700 join PIC Hafa Adai 5K 2024

The colorful and always exciting Hafa Adai 5K Color Run by Pacific Islands Club Saipan had over 700 participants last Saturday from the course that started and ended at PIC in San Antonio.

It was untimed and everyone was a winner in the fun run that benefited the nonprofit organization Saipan Human Society. They were founded in response to animal overpopulation and the need for veterinary services in the CNMI.

PIC Saipan SEA manager Reymark Castro said they chose to raise funds for SHS to help them with their mission in the community.

“Their passion and selflessness throughout these years has been very helpful to the CNMI, it is just right to help them in any way we can. It is very remarkable how they show their dedication to the community with very limited resources that they have, mostly from their own pockets,” said Castro of SHS.

“This type of love and care for the safety and betterment of the people in the community is what being human is about. PIC Saipan supports these movements to give back the love and support to the people of CNMI. We are part of the community, and we, PIC Saipan, will continue to be mindful for the good of the majority,” he said.

SHS’ Ruby Ma thanked PIC for hosting the event and raising funds for the organization. “Thank you to PIC for hosting the event and benefiting us. Thank you to everyone who participated and showed their support toward our mission in providing compassionate, sustainable, innovative and accessible animal health care in our community with this extremely fun event!”

Over $5,000 in prizes raffled out post-race including waterpark passes, lunch passes, brunch passes, PIC gym and waterpark memberships, and hotel stays.

PIC Sports, Entertainment, and Activities director Dennis Tababa thanked their partners Run Saipan, Department of Public Safety, and Department of Public Works.

He then thanked their sponsors E-Land Group, including PIC Saipan, Kensington Hotel Saipan, and Coral Ocean Resort, Triple J Saipan, Bridge Capital LLC., Marpac, TanHoldings, and Yaong Corp.
