Padres, Bandits still undefeated in SBL

The Padres and Bandits are still undefeated after their win last Friday and Thursday in the 2024 Tan Holdings-SBL at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field.

The Padres won their second game in a row after they pummeled the Bears, 16-1, in the continuation of their rain-delayed game last Friday.

The Bears stood no chance against the Padres after the rain ended their game, 0-10, at the third inning last May 1, but that didn’t stop them from trying.

The Padres, however, continued to show no mercy as they picked up where they left off. They’ve already scored 10 by the third inning, and they went on to add three more from Frankie Lifoifoi, Mario Salas, and Kyle Hocog for a 13-0 lead.

The Bears finally notched one run against the Padres’ pitching staff after a double by Anthony Dizon in the fourth, but that was all they could do.

The game was called off shortly from mercy ruling after the Padres went on to score three more runs from Ben Jones, Jonah Flores, and Darion Jones. This brought the Bears record down to two losses and no wins, while the Padres are on the opposite end with two wins and no losses.

In the battle of undefeated teams, the Bandits took on Sandlot last Thursday.

The Bandits came out victorious and boosted their undefeated record to three wins. Both teams’ offenses were alive and as hot as Saipan’s summer as the final score was 17-10.

This brought the Sandlot down to a 2-1 record.

Last Wednesday, the defending champions Cardinals secured their second win for a 2-1 record after they defeated the Natives, 19-4. The Natives have yet to win with three losses.
