Public hearing on Tinian for solid waste management plan
The CNMI Office of Planning and Development, on behalf of the Inter-Island Solid Waste Management Task Force, invites you to a public hearing on Nov. 15, 2023, from 5pm to 6pm at the Tinian Public Library to share your thoughts, voice your concerns, and learn more about the CNMI Comprehensive Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan.
To view the latest draft of the CISWMP, give your thoughts on the plan, and more, please visit https://opd.gov.mp/ciswmp.html.
The CNMI CISWMP charts a sustainable path forward for the CNMI’s solid waste, spanning the development, operations, and maintenance of compliant landfilling, recycling, and composting facilities for Saipan, Tinian, Rota, and the Northern Islands. It includes supporting activities such as education and outreach, conservation, and more.
“Together, we can preserve our Commonwealth’s beauty and precious resources for future generations through effective, sustainable solid waste management. Get involved and be part of the CISWMP development process,” states an OPD news release.
