Rabauliman’s appointment to CEC board withdrawn again

Citing time constraints, acting governor David M. Apatang has again withdrawn the appointment of Trinidad L. Rabauliman to serve as a member of the Commonwealth Election Commission.

Apatang informed Senate President Edith E. DeLeon Guerrero (D-Saipan) of their “difficult decision” to withdraw Rabauliman’s name as their appointee to the CEC board.

Gov. Arnold I. Palacios first appointed Rabauliman to serve a four-year term with the CEC board last Sept. 6, 2023, representing the Third Senatorial District, or Saipan and Northern Islands, but then withdrew that appointment last December due to time constraint. He re-submitted Rabauliman’s nomination on Dec. 1, 2023.

The appointment requires the Senate’s confirmation.

Rabauliman used to serve as a member of the CEC board. Then-governor Eloy S. Inos appointed her to serve on the CEC board on Aug. 7, 2013, and she was subsequently confirmed by the Senate.
