Regal donates $3,187 to ARC-NMI Chapter

The Regal Foundation and their Star of Hope program have donated $3,187 to the American Red Cross-NMI Chapter.

The generous donation will be used to support Red Cross programs throughout Saipan, Rota, and Tinian. Since 2003 the Regal Foundation has supported communities in which Regal operates by partnering with selected charities like the Red Cross who provide aid to families affected by economic, social, physical, or educational disadvantages.

“The NMI Red Cross Chapter is grateful for Regal support and uses their generosity to improve lives here in the CNMI” said ARC-NMI Chapter Disaster Program manager Juan Diego Tenorio.

“We are proud to be included as a national Regal partner and appreciate the generous support at the local community level” said ARC-NMI Chapter executive director John Hirsh.

Regal Cinemas, which owns Regal Saipan Megaplex, established the Regal Foundation in 2003 as a non-profit charitable organization to coordinate support for numerous national and local philanthropic groups.

Regal hosts an annual summer fundraiser called “Stars of Hope” where guests are invited to donate $1 or more to help Regal Foundation’s many partners. Additionally, an annual “Holiday Round Up” campaign in November January allows moviegoers the opportunity to round up purchases at the concessions stand. All proceeds from these two initiatives benefit the Regal Foundation.

The American Red Cross, founded in 1881 by Clara Barton, is a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement—humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality. The Red Cross saves lives and eases suffering by providing relief to those affected by disasters and helping people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.

Its Northern Mariana chapter while carrying out its mission will also strive to be a role model not only within the American Red Cross family, but also in terms of public accountability, diversity, respect for the rule of law or otherwise the practice of democracy, for other civic organizations in its jurisdiction.
