SUFC bags wins in TakeCare soccer
Southern United Football Club’s teams bagged wins in their respective divisions of the TakeCare Youth Soccer League Fall 2023 at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville last Saturday.
SUFC’s 14U girls team overpowered Paire FC, 8-2.
It was a goal-frenzy for SUFC with back-to-back goals by Brianne Echalico in the sixth and seventh minute. Paire’s Windsor Gross made it 1-3 in the 10th minute, but SUFC went on overdrive and scored three more goals before the end of the first half.
Even before Paire could score their second goal, SUFC’s strikers put in the last three of their goals quickly, to make it 8-1. At the end of the match, SUFC’s Selena Atalig and Jadine Higgins scored two each.
Paire’s Iris Rasa scored their second goal in the 36th minute and it was too little, too late to catch up to SUFC’s large lead.
SUFC’s 17U girls team outlasted Shirley’s FC, 3-1.
SUFC’s Brianne Echalico drew first blood in the seventh minute, but after just a couple of minutes, Addalee Taflinger evened it up.
However, Shirley’s offense was quickly halted and that was all they could muster, while SUFC’s Tamaesha Diaz and Rosie Saralu added two more goals that clinched the win.
SUFC’s 12U boys team ousted Kanoa FC, 3-1.
It was a quick and easy game for SUFC as all three of their goals were made consecutively even before the sixth minute.
Two goals were made before Kanoa’s Izaiah Tenorio scored their lone goal a few seconds later. Kanoa couldn’t add another even after the first half came and went.
