Sewer line cleaning for all central lift stations on Sept. 9-13
The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. would like to inform the general public of upcoming sewer line cleaning for all central lift stations from Monday, Sept. 9, 2024, through Friday, Sept. 13, 2024.
Details of the project are the following:
◦ Sewer line cleaning time: 7:30am-4:30pm
◦ Area(s) Affected: Garapan, Beach Road, Gualo Rai, and Navy Hill.
◦ Wastewater Facilities Affected: S-4, S-5, S-6, S-8, S-9, S-10, S-11, and S-12
◦ Purpose: To allow CUC Wastewater operators to perform sewer line cleaning, removing blockages, preventing buildup, and maintaining the long-term integrity of CUC’s sewer systems.
For the safety of CUC operators, certain roadways may be closed during the cleaning period to allow path for Wastewater equipment and the operators to access the manholes.
Motorists are advised to reduce speed and exercise caution while driving in the area or take alternative routes.
CUC will employ various sewer line cleaning methods, including hydro jetting, Vac-Con pumping, mechanical snaking, chemical and enzyme drain cleaners, and professional inspections. Regular sewer line maintenance is crucial to preventing blockages and buildup which can cause unpleasant odors, slow drains, and sewage backup.
