Tony Deleon Guerrero is SGA November Ace winner
Despite finishing all the way down in seventh place, Tony Deleon Guerrero won the Saipan Golf Association 2023 November Ace of the Month Tournament last Nov. 12 at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort east course.
Deleon Guerrero finished with a net score of 79 after his 96 gross was shaved off by his handicap 17.
The six players that had lower scores than him already won a monthly tournament and under SGA rules were ineligible to take home the monthly plum, thus giving the November ace on a silver platter to Deleon Guerrero.
Larry Deleon Guerrero actually fired the lowest score of the day with his net 68, followed by Das Krishnan’s net 69, Attorney General Edward Manibusan and Ed Sablan’s identical net 72s, Mariano Fajardo’s 74, and Joe Sablan’s net 76.
In the closest to the pin, Ray San Nicholas was without peer in hole No. 4, Ray San Nicholas was the best in hole No. 6, while Larry Deleon Guerrero and John Matsumoto ruled holes No. 11 and 15, respectively.
Best friends Rick Kautz and Nick Sablan brought the lumber and won the longest drives in holes No. 2 and 18, respectively.
With the win last month, Tony Deleon Guerrero now joins SGA 2023 Ace of Aces Tournament qualifiers Ray S. Salas (January), Das Krishnan (February), Joe I. Sablan (March), Rick Kautz (April), Nick C. Sablan (May), Tony S. Reyes (June), Larry I. Deleon Guerrero (July), Edward C. Sablan (August), Edward Manibusan (September), and Mariano Fajardo (October).
The 2023 SGA Ace of Aces is proposed for one day only on Dec. 17, 2023 with venue and time still to be announced.
