Toy for Tots Campaign collected over 3K toys in 2023

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation’s Toy for Tots Campaign on Saipan was able to collect a total of 3,446 toys in Christmas 2023.

This, according to Capt. Ryan E. West of the U.S. Marine Corps Camp Blaz during the Saipan Chamber of Commerce general membership yesterday at the Hibiscus Hall of Crown Plaza Resort Saipan in Garapan.

West said the donated toys benefited the following group of agencies—Karidat Foundation received 272 toys, while the Division of Youth Services received 188 toys. A total of 41 toys were given to Tlaabwogh Stars and 2,108 toys were donated to the public drive thru.

“I just appreciate you guys for allowing me come speak to you really quick,” said West.

In addition, he also presented a plaque of appreciation to Chamber vice president Joshua Wise on behalf of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce. The plaque is to honor their hard work from last year’s Toy for Tots Campaign on Saipan.

The Toys for Tots Campaign relies on widespread support and through the generous contributions of individuals, businesses, and communities. The 2024 campaign, which will start in earnest in the runup to the Chrstmas seasonl encourages everyone to get involved, whether through toy donations or serving as a donation location.

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is a not-for-profit charity with a 76-year history. Last year the Marine Toys for Tots Program fulfilled the holiday hopes and dreams of 9.9 million less fortunate children in over 800 communities nationwide by distributing 24.4 million toys.
