Tsubaki Tower raises thousands for UOG foundation
TUMON, Guam—The Tsubaki Tower presented a check for $8,253 to the University of Guam’s Endowment Foundation last Dec. 11, 2023, in support of the foundation’s annual “G is for Giving” campaign and scholarship drive.
The donation was the result of a commitment The Tsubaki Tower made to make a donation for every guest who dined at Casa Oceano, the resort’s all-day dining restaurant, throughout November 2023.
UOG president Dr. Anita Borja Enriquez received the check on behalf of the university. “We are extremely grateful to The Tsubaki Tower Guam for its generous scholarship contributions to support our University of Guam students. Their partnership with the UOG Endowment Foundation supports our College Affordability Initiative,” she said.
UOG’s “G is for Giving” program launched in 2017 and raises funds each year for academic scholarships. To date, the campaign has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarship funding.
Ken Yanagisawa, president of P.H.R. Ken Micronesia, Inc. and general manager of The Tsubaki Tower, said his team was proud to support the “G is for Giving” campaign, which allowed the resort to raise money to support students who may consider future employment in tourism and the hospitality industry.
“UOG is a vital partner for Guam’s tourism industry, and we are pleased to support this campaign,” he said. “On behalf of our company, team, and customers, we present this check as an investment in the next generation of hoteliers and tourism professionals. We encourage other companies to call UOG to learn how they can support the university and its students in a meaningful way.” (PR)
