Unbeatable Braves snake past Cobras, 17-4

The unbeaten Braves continue their domination of the diamond after they snaked past the Cobras, 17-4, last Monday in the Major League of the Natibu Sports Association Youth Baseball League at the Miguel “Tan Ge” Pangelinan Softball Field.

They have won six in a row for the only undefeated record in the Major League.

The Braves swung their bats early and scored eight in the first inning. Only two batters in their lineup didn’t get on base that inning. After their hot start, it was the Cobras’ turn to strike.

They scored three in the first from the first to the third of their lineup—Chad Reyes, Landon Lieto, and Denzel Kaipat, but the Braves’ Sky Lizama quickly put a stop to their offense.

The Braves then recorded six in the second for a 14-3 lead as the Cobras’ pitching staff just could not find the strike zone. On the other hand, the Braves pitchers registered six Ks and didn’t allow runs in the second and third inning.

The only other blemish came in the last inning when the Cobras showed some signs of life when Lieto scored. However, Braves closer Kaipat quickly got out of the jam and preserved their win by a margin of 13 runs.

The Braves’ Kaleb Reyes got on base all three at-bats and scored three runs, while Dayton Marchadesch, Elijah Babauta, and Aiden Lizama rounded the bases two times each.

In the other game that day, the Comets streaked past the Cubs, 10-8.

The Cubs led, 8-7, in the fifth inning until the Comets scored three runs to steal the lead and eventually win as the Cubs failed to score in the last inning.

Last Sunday, the Lil’ Blue Jays defeated the Marlins, 21-11; in the Junior League, the Blue Jays Jr. pummeled the Comets Jr., 27-13; and the last game between the Phillies and Braves Jr. was suspended.
