Voluntary recall for Enfamil Nutramigen
For consumers that are purchasing Enfamil Nutramigen online and outside of the CNMI (Amazon.com, Walmart.com, etc.), Reckitt/Mead Johnson has voluntarily recalled selected batches of Nutramigen that has a UPC Code of 300871239418 or 300871239456 and “Use By Date” of Jan. 1, 2025 due to possible cronobacter sakazkii contamination.
Along with the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. Environmental Health Disease Prevention, the CNMI WIC Program has ensured that inventories at participating CNMI WIC vendors and other vendors are not a part of this recall and is not a part of the recalled batches.
Cronobacter bacteria can cause severe, life-threatening infections (sepsis) or meningitis (an inflammation of the membranes that protect the brain and spine). Symptoms of sepsis and meningitis may include poor feeding, irritability, temperature changes, jaundice (yellow skin and whites of the eyes), grunting breaths and abnormal movements. Cronobacter infection may also cause bowel damage and may spread through the blood to other parts of the body.
Consumers who purchased Nutramigen should check the bottom of the can to identify whether the batch number is affected. Product with the batch codes listed should not be used. For a refund for on-hand, impacted product, please contact Reckitt/Mead Johnson before product is disposed for total refund processing.
