Wazzup says adios to Tokahao, 13-4

Wazzup said see you later to Tokahao as they beat them, 13-4, in the 2024 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association League men’s division last Sunday at the Dandan Softball Field.

It was a pretty equal game in the first two innings, with the upper hand to Tokahoa, but Wazzup got into the groove in the third.

Tokahao led 3-2 from runs scored by Bruce Norita, Mark Villagomez, and Clint Quitugua, but they hit a brick wall after that as they just couldn’t cut it against Wazzup pitcher Kevin Kapileo.

Geoff Cruz added one on the board for Tokahao in the sixth inning from a homer, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap Wazzup had built. Wazzup, after being down by one in the second, scored four in the third to overtake the lead, 6-3.

They kept adding runs from there as a three-run jack from Chris George cemented a 9-3 lead in the fourth. Wazzup wasn’t done yet as they scored four more runs in the fifth and sixth, which was more than enough for the win.

Team Sufa 21, Tuturamz 6

Team Sufa beat Tuturamz repeatedly with their bats as they won, 21-6.

It was over quickly via run-mercy ruling when they scored their 21st run in just the fourth inning. Meanwhile, Tuturamz could only score two in the first, one in the third, and just three in the fourth.

Sufa’s ball-magnet bats scorched 13-runs in the third inning alone from two three-run homers by Paul Salalila and Pat Deleon Guerrero, plus multiple runs scored from fielding errors along the way.

Man Amigos 21, Team Redmen 6

The Man Amigos’ power of friendship—and their skills with the bat landed them the win against Team Redmen, 21-6.

It was another run-mercy ruled game as the Amigos blasted run after run starting in the second inning. Nine runs came, plus another seven in the third.

The Redmen couldn’t even connect with the ball until the fourth inning when they scored six, but at this point, it was too little too late. The Amigos went on to score five more and the game ended soon after that.

Hagu La’Mun 11, Peliliu 1

Hagu La’mun were hungry for runs as they outscored Peliliu, 11-1.

Hagu La’mun pitcher John Acosta didn’t really have much to worry about with only one run scored by Peliliu and only four hits against him. It was up to Hagu La’mun’s offense to drive it all the way home, and that’s what they did.

The bulk of their runs came in the last inning as they scored five consecutive runs—and Peliliu conceded with a 10-run deficit.

Asahi 19, Saipal 2

Asahi beat down on Saipal, 19-2.

It was a fruitful third inning for Asahi as they scored nine runs, with three from Darwin Masaharu’s home run.

Another seven runs came in the last three innings and as Saipal could only score two by way of Derek Sasamoto and Chico Ilo, the game ended early.
