The CNMI Area Health Education Center, through the Northern Marianas College Community Development Institute, is sponsoring a review course for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses, or NCLEX-RN. To become a licensed registered nurse, candidates in the CNMI and in the U.S. must first pass the NCLEX.
To qualify to register for the course, individuals must have a minimum of an associate’s degree in nursing. The deadline to enroll for the NCLEX-RN review course is Friday, June 6, 2014.
CNMI AHEC will subsidize this review course for those individuals who are legal residents of the CNMI (i.e. U.S. citizens and U.S. green card holders). Due to limited funding however, subsidy is based on a first-come-first-serve basis. For others who do not meet the CNMI residency requirements, the fee for the course is $480.
This NCLEX-RN preparatory course will run from June 9 to July 16, 2014, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (with the exception of July 4, 2014) from 5pm to 8pm at the NMC As Terlaje campus. The schedule for the course will total to 48 hours.
Interested applicants must register by Friday, June 6, 2014, and submit a copy of their highest nursing degree and a valid I.D. (i.e. U.S. passport, driver’s license, or birth certificate for verification upon registration). Full payment of the course fee is required before or upon registration, and for admission. No refunds will be allowed after the first day classes are offered.
Additionally, NMC courses are required to have a minimum number of individuals enrolled in order to proceed. NMC reserves the right to cancel or reschedule such a course if this enrollment requirement is not met.
Preparatory courses are designed to improve individual knowledge and skills. If requested, certificates of completion may be awarded to each registered participant who completes all course requirements. CDI also provides customized trainings and courses upon request from interested individuals.
For more information and/or to register for the review course, visit the NMC Community Development Institute at the NMC As Terlaje campus in Building P. Those interested may also call CDI at 234-5498 ext. 6802, 6809, 6810 or 6808, or email Orrin Pharmin at email@example.com. (NMC)
