Blas meets with new counsel general of Japan

AGANA, GUAM—Guam Senator Frank Blas Jr. met yesterday morning with the new counsel general of Japan in Guam and discussed ways to continue to enhance the relationship between Guam and Japan.
Shinji Urabayashi took over as counsel general of Japan in Guam last month. Urabayashi most recently served as counselor at the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia and also served as counsel at the Consulate General of Japan in New York and in Seattle. He has been with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since April of 1978.
Blas welcomed Urabayashi to Guam and told him that he looks forward to continuing the working relationship he has with the counsel’s office on Guam. Blas also told Urabayashi that he will join with him to continue to foster the goodwill between the people of Guam and the people of Japan.
