CNMI SBDC, Guam PTAC host federal contracting training
The CNMI Small Business Development Center at the Northern Marianas College, in partnership with the Office of the Guam Procurement and Technical Assistance Center, hosted an Introduction to Federal Opportunities training last Jan. 30, 2023, on the island of Tinian and on Jan. 31, 2023, on the island of Saipan.
At the training, participants learned how to be HubZone and Woman-owned certified and how to register in the System for Award Management. Obtaining certifications in these areas will allow for local small businesses to conduct business with the federal government as well as gain an advantaged status when bidding for federal projects.
The training was conducted by Guam PTAC program manager Boris Hertslet, and attended by clients of the SBDC who are in search of opportunities to do business with the federal government.
The CNMI SBDC invites those who are not clients to visit their website and register to be a client at https://www.marianas.edu/cnmisbdc to avail of no-cost training opportunities and to receive first-hand basis notices to upcoming SBDC events. Interested individuals may also call the CNMI SBDC offices at (670) 237-6888 on Saipan, (670) 433-0657 on Tinian, and (670) 532-9513 on Rota to schedule an appointment for one-on-one counseling with one of our business advisers.
