One-sided matches were the order of the day as the three games in the Saipan Little League’s Majors division last Saturday all ended by the mercy rule at the Miguel “Tan Ge” Pangelinan baseball field.
Comets 16, IT&E Comets 5
Reid Teregeyo blasted an RBI triple in the Comets’ nine-run first inning as they capitalized on their opponents’ five errors.
Teregeyo also scored one run, while the IT&E Comets committed 13 errors overall.
John Paul Castro pitched a complete game cut short by the mercy rule. He only gave up two hits, while striking out seven and walking three batters.
Padres 13, Jets 3
Tylon Sablan had an RBI double and pitched three innings where he held the Jets to two hits with six strikeouts and four walks.
Mark Tabora pitched two shutout innings in relief and was unhittable, fanning five and walking one batter.
Terrance Babauta, who walked in the first inning, hit a solo home run in the fifth in a 3-for-4 performance at the plate. He also had four runs and three RBIs.
Falcons 25, McDonald’s 0
The Falcons scored 20 runs in the second inning, and Aven Evangelista and Keoni Serrano shared pitching duties to shut out McDonald’s.
Evangelista pitched 1 1/2 innings in start and gave up one hit to Franklin Pangelinan, while Serrano completed the win, striking out four and walking one batter.
Evangelista also went 3-for-4 at the plate with four runs and two RBIs, while Joel Norita, 2-for-3, had a double, scored four times and had two RBIs.
Red Sox 9, Falcons 6
The Red Sox used a five-run first inning to beat the Falcons.
Austin Indalencio pitched a complete game and gave up seven hits, while striking out seven batters.
Enforcers 10, Braves 7
Nate Nogis went 2-for-4 and scored twice, while Kier Agda lasted for five innings to lead the Enforcers to victory.
Agda gave up five hits, fanning four, and walking three batters.
Franklin Lizama pitched two innings in relief and allowed two hits with one strikeout and two walks.
Red Sox 6, Comets 2
Richard Atang closed out the last four innings holding the Comets to two hits to complete the win. He struck out five and walked one.
Jobe Reyes lasted for three innings in his first start this season allowing the Comets to two hits, fanning four, and walking two batters.
Nathan Camacho went 2-for-4 to lead the Red Sox’s batting.
