In various campaign events in the CNMI and the U.S. mainland, Tinian Mayor Ramon M. Dela Cruz emphasized his campaign theme: Taking Care of Tinian.

“The ‘Taking Care of Tinian’ of Tinian theme reflects our accomplishments over the past four years and our commitment to still more accomplishments over the next four years,” said Dela Cruz, who is running as an independent candidate.

“For the past four years, with very limited resources, we have been taking care of Tinian in the areas of tourism, gaming, investments, and economic development; in the prudent financial management of the municipal government; and in relations with the U.S military, with military training activities on Tinian,” he said.

Dela Cruz said his re-election campaign is about maintaining a necessary continuity of municipal leadership, with responsible financial stewardship, in the face of all oncoming challenges.

“For the next four years, with the support of the people of Tinian, we will continue ‘Taking Care of Tinian’ in all of these vital areas,” said Dela Cruz.

He takes great pride in the relationships he has developed with members of the U.S. military when it comes to U.S. military training on Tinian. “I support continued military training on Tinian and a divert U.S. Air Force facility on Tinian,” said Dela Cruz.

Two hotel/casino investors are in the process of breaking ground for their investment on Tinian.

Through constant encouragement by Dela Cruz, investors are arriving on island to invest in the community, such as Joeten Enterprises’ new Ace Hardware, the Alter City Group’s proposed $200- million hotel/casino/golf course at Nasarino, and Mega Stars’ (the new owner of Tinian Dynasty) public land lease at Kastiyu Plateau for their $600-million integrated resort and theme water park adjacent to TDHC.

The transfer station is another essential infrastructure that the Dela Cruz has been aggressively pursuing to ensure the timely closure of the existing landfill and pave the way for the construction of a hotel and casino course at Nasarino. Dela Cruz states that Tinian has continued to move forward and has become a very exciting place to visit and invest.

He also takes great pride in paying off vendors and reducing the Tinian municipal government’s outstanding liabilities, because, he said, “Private businesses pay taxes, provide jobs, and should be paid for goods and services rendered.”

“When I came into office, our municipal government owed over $4 million; however, since then we reduced our outstanding liabilities by $1.3 million,” said Dela Cruz. “I want to continue moving forward to further address our liabilities and continue ‘Taking Care of Tinian’ over the next four years.”

Dela Cruz is running with Trenton Connor, who is seeking a Tinian Senate seat; Joaquin H. Borja, an incumbent senator seeking re-election; and former representative Edwin P. Aldan, who is seeking another term in the House of Representatives.

Also aligned with Dela Cruz, seeking municipal council positions, are Raynaldo Mendiola Cing, Edwin Manglona Hofschneider, and Diana Hocog Borja.

“With the support of many prominent local leaders and the people of our local community, we will continue ‘Taking Care of Tinian’ over the next four years,” vowed Dela Cruz. (PR)

  1. Buenas Primon Ray Dela Cruz,

The last time you ran for mayor, we gave our best to help you win, because we were hoping you would keep your promised to make change in the Second Senatorial District. But as the years past, you did not keep your promised and you began to go against the people of Tinian. The individuals that don’t agree with your method of running your office end up being jobless. What kind of a human being are you? You careless if the individuals you fired had families to feed or maybe you are a straight forward heartless.

Come on Primo, you fired primon Ed your own brother to justify your practiced on who gets fire. It shows that you will bring your own blood down for the shake of preserving your grip on your power. It is very sad for us to learned that you had the guts to fire your own brother and at the same time you give your other close relatives the keys to heaven.

Your theme “Taking Care of Tinian” is not the appropriate theme. Your theme should be “Getting Rid of Anyone who go against you.”

We are not advocating for anyone for the Mayor position, but we need to let you be accountable for your broken promises and lies.

    Best regards from your cousin.

  2. Mr. Jun your so right about Ramon. He lied to you and the people of Tinian. He sacrificed his brother but that won’t work people don’t forget . By the way , I always see your may Ramon on Saipan, man that’s a lot of meetings.

    1. Buenas John,

I used to attend lunch gathering with the big wig from Tinian at the Fiesta Resort and at times I just want to vomit, because many of our people are suffering in Tinian and money is no object to our dearest Mayor when it comes to eating out. I do not or I always make excuses not to go when I am invited to attend meetings or gathering at the hotel or restaurant with the elected officials. I rather settle eating sardines and young coconuts at the beach near my house and enjoy the life of being poor.

      Si Yu’us Ma’ase .
