Ganacias is FilTaga’s February Ace

Dan Ganacias has secured his spot on the FilTaga Golfers Association Ace of Aces tournament next year after ruling the February Ace of the Month held last Sunday at the Marianas Country Club.

Ganacias had a tough outing at the front nine with a 42 but recovered with a 37 at the back that gave him a gross score of 79. The 10-handicapper finished with a 69 for six-shot win over Vic Romana.

Romana, who has a nine handicap, finished with a 75. He had rounds of 46 and 38 for a gross score of 84.

Mariana Resort & Spa acting general manager William Retardo ended up with a 76 net. He shot a 38 and 42 for an 80 gross and with a four handicap earned him with the final score.

MCC operations manager Thomson Palik was the par-3 closest to the pin at Nos. 8 and 12, while FilTaga board directors Ruben Avendano and Mike Cruz each duplicated the feat at Nos. 6 and 16.

Ganacias now joins FilTaga 2017 Ace of Aces champion Jess Yumul in claiming a spot for next year’s finals after the latter clinched the January monthly tournament held at the Kingfisher Golf Links a few weeks ago.

Yumul, FilTaga’s 2017 November Ace winner, ended up with a 66 net after the 23 handicapper’s 89 gross.
