Grace Christian Academy 1 and Marianas High School 1 maintained their unblemished records as the NMIVA-PSS Interscholastic Girls High School Volleyball League 2021-2022 season resumed last Tuesday at the Marianas High School Gymnasium.

The Lady Dolphins 1 was the first on the court and needed only two sets to dispose of Mount Carmel School 3. MHS 1 struggled early and teetered in the brink against the Lady Knights 3 before pulling off the first set win, 25-22. It was more of a smooth sailing in the second set, as the Lady Dolphins 1 found their groove and improved to 5-0 with a 25-13 mastery of MCS 3, which dropped to 3-3.

The MHS 1 team is made up of Arisa Custodio, Abigail Decena, Madelleen Narciso, Fatima Monterubio, Julie Ann Capayas, Daejah Benavente, Rizza Relucio, Raina Avelino, Raenna Ramarui, Kalista Klaver, and Kina Rangamar.

The Lady Eagles 1 also preserved their immaculate win-loss record after cruising past MHS 2, 25-5, 25-7. Coach Cesar Libut’s squad, which is now 6-0, includes Karina Dilse, Clerrise Dacumos, Katriel Saures, Hye Jin Elliott, Soleil Lamar, Vicky Wang, Mint Karsuaythong, Eunice Pagaduan, and Allyssa Omampo. The loss was the third in six outings for MHS 2.

In other results last Tuesday, GCA 2 beat Saipan International School 2, 25-10, 25-14; Saipan Southern High School 1 showed no love lost to sister team SSHS, 25-8, 25-17; SIS 1 drop MCS 3, 25-23, 25-20; and MCS 1 took out MHS 3, 25-14, 25-14.

The NMIVA-PSS Interscholastic Girls High School Volleyball League 2021-2022 season returns to action this Saturday with a full six-game schedule at the sweltering hot MHS Gym. The 4:30pm matches will have GCA 1 staking its undefeated record against MCS 3 and MHS 3 duking it out with MCS 2. The 5:30pm games will feature MCS 1 vs MHS 1 and SIS taking on GCA 2. The last pair of games will then have MHS 2 going up against SSHS 1 and SSHS 2 challenging SIS 2.
