Following the footsteps of the high school Lady Eagles, the middle school girls of the Grace Christian Academy varsity volleyball team are currently undefeated with five straight wins after their recent victory last Tuesday in the NMIVA-PSS Interscholastic Middle School Volleyball League 2022-2023 at the Marianas High School Gymnasium.

The Lady Eagles soared way above the sticky grasp of the Saipan International School Geckos’ varsity team in two fast and furious sets, 21-8, 21-10, with the Geckos unable to find a handle on the ball against speedy attacks at the net by the Eagles.

The Lady Eagles ’ varsity team consists of Sofia Gomez, Ella Hall, Dianna Zheng, Ana Villagomez, Misako Ota, Llyana Libut, Nevaeh Camacho, Sarah Lim, and Miley Mafnas.

In other results that night, the younger GCA junior varsity team won over Hopwood Middle School junior varsity via forfeit; SIS defeated Francisco M. Sablan Middle School in two sets, 21-2, 21-12; Saipan Community School collected their first win of the season against FMS varsity in two close sets, 21-19, 21-19; Dandan Middle School triumphed over ChaCha Ocean View Middle School, 21-19, 21-14; and Tanapag Middle School raged against Hopwood Middle School in three nail-biting sets, 21-8, 17-21, 15-11.

In the standings, SIS, TMS, and Hopwood Middle School varsity teams are right behind the Eagles with a 4-1 record each, while DMS is behind with a 2-3 card, followed by Mount Carmel School and COVMS with 1-4 records, and FMS and SCS with 1-5 each.

In the junior varsity standings, the Eagles are undefeated and on top as well with four wins, followed by TMS with three wins, SIS has a 3-2 card, DMS is at 1-2, FMS is 1-3, and HMS have no wins yet with five losses.
