Intoxicated teen allegedly punches sister

An allegedly intoxicated teenager reportedly punched his sister twice in the face for stopping him from arguing with their other brother during a drinking session at their house in As Lito on Wednesday night.

Ashiqur Rahaman, 19, was taken to Superior Court on Friday on charges of assault and battery, and disturbing the peace. His bail was set at $5,000 cash. Assistant public defender Tillman Clark was appointed as his counsel.

A police report said that two police officers responded on Wednesday night to MGM Poker in As Lito after the victim called for police assistance.

One officer met with the victim, who was crying and shouting and cussing at her brother Rahaman. Her nose was bleeding.

The victim told police that Rahaman and their other brother were drinking with her boyfriend at their house.

When she heard Rahaman talking in a loud voice, she went out to check what was going on. When she tried to stop the argument, Rahaman allegedly punched her on the face. Her boyfriend pulled Rahaman away from her but Rahaman still managed to punched her face again.

The victim ran across the street to MGM Poker, where she called the police.

Police arrested Rahaman on Thursday at 12:23am.
