GROUNDED A Coast Guard HC-130 Hercules aircrew flies over the 308-foot Chinese-flagged commercial fish carrier Ou Ya Leng No. 6 on Taka Atoll in the Marshall Islands on Jan. 3, 2019. The vessel is reportedly a fish carrier targeting squid in the Western and Central Pacific Fishing Commission area now aground in the territorial waters of the Marshall Islands with 24 crew aboard. LOTTERY WINNER
Jin Guang Zhi plays both the Megadraw and the Pacific Gold Lottery games every week. On the morning of Dec. 12, 2017, he had a lucky feeling, so he stopped by the Ming Yang Supermarket that morning on his way to work and bought a Pacific Gold Lottery ticket. The next day, Zhi went back to the store to check if he had won something. And that’s when the cashier handed him a prize claim form and told him that he had won a big amount, and that he had to contact the Northern Marianas Sports Association office to claim his winnings. Sure enough, when he did that, he was told that he had just won $5,000. And just right before Christmas and New Year!
