The Brannon’s Jam Shooters are trying to catch the leaders in the Budweiser Open 8-Ball Thursday League, with the hope of at least gaining a foothold of a Top 3 finish this season.
The Jam Shooters made their first step after a masterful 12-1 win over the cellar-dwelling VFW Assassins last week.
Brothers Senen and Lito Pangelinan, and the former’s son Albert, and Roger Espiritu showed strokes of their genius on the pool table when they nearly blanked their lowly opponents. The Jam Shooters’ lone loss was in one of the five Partners 8-Ball events when Lito and his nephew Albert were beaten by the Assassins duo of Jason “Spartan” Reyes and Henry Reyes.
The win hiked the Jam Shooters’ record to an even 65-65 for fifth place, just four games behind the 69-61 record of the 9 Eleven Titans. The Assassins dropped to 39-91 to remain at the bottom of the eight-team field. Sister teams 9 Eleven 8 Black Ball (85-45) and MJD Warriors (77-53), and the Amari’s IT&E Homeboyz (70-60) are currently the Top 3 squads in the Thursday League.
In other results in the Thursday League last week, the Titans breezed to a 10-3 decision over the Homeboyz, while the Warriors and 8 Black Ball completed similar 9-4 wins against Team SCS and Intensity 8.
Meanwhile, in the Tuesday League results, the 9 Eleven Wildboyz squeezed out a 7-6 victory over the Tasha’s The Masterstouch, while the Destroyers clinched a 9-4 triumph against the 670 Builders, and the Str8 Black Ball trounced the Hustlers, 10-3.
