JSN Construction ended Blue Haus’ yearslong undefeated streak after shocking the multi-titled masters champions, 93-74, in the 45-and-over division of the Legends Sports Association Invitational Basketball League last Sunday at the Koblerville Basketball Court.

Blue Haus actually started like a house on fire, leading fellow undefeated team JSN, 23-14, after one quarter of play.

But JSN turned things around in the second quarter and outscored their opponents 16-5 to grab a 40-28 lead at the break.

JSN continued to keep Blue Haus at bay come the start of the second half and entered the fourth and final quarter with a still comfortable 67-53 lead.

Big man Jorge De Guzman then made sure Blue Haus won’t have any comeback this time, firing 8 of his game-high 23 points in the payoff period to tow JSN to the 19-point win.

Jun Tabora and James Abuy also scored 22 and 21 points in JSN’s second win in as many games, while the now 1-1 Blue Haus was led by the 16 markers of come-backing Jun Estolas and the 13 points of Elmer Esdrelon.

JSN coach Jake Villanueva said they surprised Blue Haus with good defense while also minimizing their turnovers. He said it also helped that their players were able to keep up with Blue Haus’ speed and physicality this time around.

In the other masters match, Vizion Insurance leveled its record to 1-1 after a 112-89 shellacking of Legends Elite, which dropped to 0-2.

In the open division, Padrinos Tuesday Club topped Alger Manpower, 69-62; NAPA Auto Parts defeated Marianas Health Services, 90-53; Changming Market routed Vizion Insurance, 103-70; Pacific Best Choice beat Pepoy’s Rest Cafe, 81-57; and Blue Haus thumped JIM Saipan, 107-71.

JSN Construction 93 – De Guzman 23, Abay 22, Tabora 21, Ocampo 8, Montano 7, Alegre 4, Bartolo 4, Villarin 3.
Blue Haus 74 – Estolas 16, Esdrelon 13, Berline 10, Guiab 7, Santos 7, Elchico 6, Alano 2, Culala 2, Buenabajo 2.
Scoring by quarters: 14-23, 40-28, 67-53, 93-74.
