Radio station KCNM-KZMI has joined the rank of sponsors for the 18th Annual HANMI Charity Classic Golf Tournament that’s happening on May 11, 2019, at Laolao Bay Golf & Resort’s west course, donating $600 in airtime that has helped sell out the event.

“Thanks to our faithful players and sponsors such as KCNM-KZMI, I’m pleased to report we have full house already signed up for this year’s HANMI Charity Classic Golf Tournament,” said tournament chair Steve Balakrishna. “We have a full 144 registrants and a number more [on] the waiting list. Really, the support has been extraordinary, and we are grateful.”

The tournament follows a black-jack double Peoria format. Over $100,000 in cash, cars, hotel night stays, and other prizes await the winners.

“KZMI-FM 103.9 has been known as the CNMI’s first & favorite radio station for more than 30 years,” said station general manager Bob Webb.

He describes KZMI as a “Hot Adult Contemporary” formatted station that crosses over all traditional demographics and ethnic groups.

“KZMI is a mix of today’s hottest music with a scattering of yesterday’s hits,” said Webb. “KZMI is dynamic and listener-friendly and showcases all the excitement of a hit music format while still addressing the needs a family-based audience. KZMI keeps its listeners informed with USA Radio News, an award-winning 5-minute news broadcast throughout the day.”

For an additional $30, players may also compete for optional play prizes, including Accurate Drive on Line (#9), Accurate Drive Circle (#5), Aggressive Drive (#12), Longest Drive (#18), and Nearest to the Pin (#3, #7, #13, #17).

Additional hole-in-one prizes include $20,000 from Century Tours, $20,000 from LT Tours, a 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross from Triple J Motors, $5,000 from Pacifica Insurance, and a first-class, roundtrip airline ticket from Saipan to Shanghai or Guangzhou from Saipan Travel Inc., and $2,500 from Traders Insurance.
