The Corporate Social Responsibility arm of Imperial Pacific International Ltd. has a new program called “Man’Amko Caretaker Yard Cleanup.”
In collaboration with the Mana’amko Center and the Office of the Mayor of Saipan, the project primarily provides free services to the man’amko such as cleaning up the yards of their homes.
The work includes bush-cutting, yard debris cleanup, raking, trimming of hedges, hauling off of old appliances and furniture.
This initiative by IPI-CSR provides meaningful service to the elderly community, many of whom are in need of assistance in maintaining the surroundings of their homes. (PR)
Helping the manamku, burying the dead, visiting the sick etc are corporal works of mercy that we had learned in grade school religion class. They are called examples of the ten(10) BEATITUDES. One need be a very good practicing Catholic person to keep doing so. Not that I don’t like what Best Sunshine slash Imperial Pacific is doing as said in the article, I love it. But as you and I know these community corporate social responsibility efforts “bula salape” to sustain its continued volunteerism without asking oneself the question, what is the ULTERIOR MOTIVE behind this facade? Their ongoing construction project appears to be so running behind schedule for lack of capital funds being unable to obtain decent loan because of downgraded junked-bond credit rating, so the nagging question keeps popping up on the screen, why?
