Marianas Trench on ‘Your Humanities Half-Hour’
Angelo Villagomez, Dr. Andrew Thaler, and Rick MacPherson will be the featured guests on this Sunday’s “Your Humanities Half-Hour” radio program.
Villagomez, a Pew Charitable Trust officer, will provide a history of the Marianas Trench Marine National Monument, as well as efforts to develop a federal management plan and to have the monument declared a national marine sanctuary.
Thaler, of Blackbeard Biological and Open ROV, and MacPherson, of Pelagia Consulting, will discuss the scientific exploration of the monument from surface to abyss, including technologies used, new lifeforms discovered, and human impacts.
“Your Humanities Half-Hour,” which airs each Sunday from 2pm to 2:30pm on Power 99, is hosted by Catherine Perry Harris.
