Vince “The Clinch” Masga and Derrick “El Peligro” Rangamar will return to the octagon cage as they open the action in this Friday’s Trench Warz 20: Full Trottle.
Masga will be on the eight sides for the first time this year against Rangamar, who is making a comeback after taking part in Trench Warz 17: Night of the Champions last Dec. 13, 2013.
Rangamar is hoping to gain his winning form after losing his last four fights. He bowed to Korean Kwan Ho Kwan (TKO punches) in their MMA bout in Trench Warz 17. The Marianas Elite standout also dropped his two matches in 2012. Incidentally, his first defeat four years ago was against Masga, who earned a unanimous decision win in their bantamweight clash in Rites of Passage 12: Unstoppable. Rangamar’s other loss in 2012 was against Kyle Aguon, who used an arm-triangle choke on the former to prevail via submission in their duel in PXC 32.
Rangamar’s string of losses started in 2011 when he fell (unanimous decision) to Shane “Pikaboo” Alvarez in Rites of Passage 11: Onra, while the former’s last victory was against Chris Layug in Rites of Passage 10: Bad Intentions last March 11, 2011. Rangamar won via TKO in the first round.
Meanwhile, 12 MMA bouts will be featured in Trench Warz 20.
The lightweight title match between Spike 22’s Rob “The Real Deal” Wusstig and Trench Tech’s Stanley “The Raging Bull” Iakopo will highlight the roster of MMA fights in this weekend’s event.
Other matchups will have Jesse Mesa battling Andres Camacho at 125 lbs; Jadrian Camacho facing Franklin Santos at 120lbs; Bradlee Manalo dueling Atrion Norita at 130 lbs; Justin Quichocho challenging Jay “Tabi” Muna also at 130 lbs; and Jeffery Garcia debuting against Torsten Rosser at the 155-lb catch weight.
Ray Duenas will also compete in the preliminary MMA events as he takes on Kier Agda at 170-175 lbs, while Joseph Camacho will square off against K.J. Villagomez at 135 lbs. Completing the tentative fight card are Nick Cruz vs Joey Boy Crisostomo Jr. at 145 lbs; Juan Lizama vs Andrew Sablan at 135 lbs; and Vince Campo vs Enrique Torres at 220 lbs.
Larry “The Pain” Naputi is also in the fight card, but his opponent in the 150-lb catch weight will be announced later.
