McDonald’s Saipan adds up to 10 new sandwiches
When combined, the words “fast” and “food” are more often associated to the largest restaurant chain in the world—McDonald’s. McDonald’s Saipan, however, is stepping up its game with new additions that are highly customizable for maximum customer satisfaction.
With McDonald’s Saipan’s all new Signature Crafted recipes, one may fully customize a sandwich based on a set of choices with one of two special sauces, a choice of fried or grilled chicken or a quarter pound pure-beef patty, either artisan or sesame seed buns, and the choice to make the order a meal complete with medium fries and a medium drink.
The customer chooses between one of two special sauces. All in all, there are about 10 special sauces; two of which McDonald’s Middle Road branch general manager Joe Ayuyu Jr. may include a sriracha-based sauce and the highly favored mushroom swiss.
“It has a lot of customization,” said Ayuyu.
Ayuyu mentioned that the two sauces would be rotated every few months. The first two sauces to be featured in the McDonald’s core menu is the applewood-smoked bacon in sweet barbecue sauce with grilled and crispy onions and white cheddar.
The other sauce is bacon covered with maple seasoning, Dijon mustard, grilled onions, white cheddar, and lettuce.
Both sauces gave a good and satisfying mixture of sweet and savory, along with a pleasing combination of textures, more magnified by the pure-beef patty variant. A soft and juicy beef patty harmoniously working the taste buds with the sweet and crispy bacon and special sweet barbecue sauce.
After picking the sauces, customers get to choose the protein of the sandwich. The protein, or the meat, comes in three variants, namely the quarter pound beef, buttermilk crispy chicken, or the artisan grilled chicken. Following the protein selection, customers are asked to choose between an artisan bun and a sesame seed bun before being presented the option to make the order a meal with medium fries and a medium drink.
According to Ayuyu, McDonald’s sees a trend in people that are more into choices, a decision that seemed to have benefit the restaurant, as since it’s first day of adding the Signature Craft recipes to the menu, there has been a good reception of the product.
Ayuyu did mention though that there were at least two limiting factors to the whole concept: the expiration dates of foreign produce if not sold and the lengthy service time due to the thinking process associated with the selection of ingredients.
To combat these issues, McDonald’s would be rotating sauces as well as providing customers interested in ordering a custom sandwich a small sheet with checkboxes indicating which ingredients a customers would like to order.
The Signature Crafted sandwiches have been available since last week and are offered at both the Middle Road and Beach Road branches of McDonald’s.
