McDonald’s Saipan is sponsoring a hole-in-one prize in the Rotary Club of Saipan’s Goodwill Golf Tournament that will be held this Saturday at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort.
McDonald’s Saipan and Guam owner/operator Marcia Ayuyu said they will be giving away $5,000 to the lucky golfer that will make an ace on the par-3, 155-yard hole No. 7 on the west course of the Kagman facility.
The cash prize from McDonald’s is one of the five hole-in-one prizes in the Rotary Club of Saipan’s fundraising event. Triple J Motors, Atkins Kroll Saipan, and Joeten Motors are offering brand new cars as hole-in-one prizes, while Pacifica Insurance Underwriters, Inc. is sponsoring the other $5,000 prize for the ace.
Rotary Club of Saipan president Sonya Dancoe said they are holding the golf tournament in place of the organization’s signature event—the Las Vegas Night—which they decided to forgo this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the cancelation of the Las Vegas Night and the challenging times that we are facing right now, Dancoe said they are thankful for the support they are getting from the community for the golf fundraiser.
Ayuyu, meanwhile, acknowledged the difficult times that we are in due to the pandemic, but would like to assure the Rotary Club of Saipan that McDonald’s remains committed to the organization and its goals of helping the community.
“I know how tough it is to raise funds for an organization,” said Ayuyu, who used to be Rotary’s president. Especially, at this time, but all the more that we need to step up and help the community. McDonald’s Saipan and Guam will always do its best to assist our community.”
Funds that will be raise from this weekend’s golf tournament will be used for Rotary’s community service and other projects. Dancoe said are looking at raising between $10,000 and $15,000.
“We want to be realistic with our target because we know we are in difficult times. We really appreciate everyone for supporting the Rotary Club and encourage them to come and join us in this tournament for a good cause,” Dancoe said.
The Rotary Club of Saipan’s Goodwill Golf Tournament will feature a two-man scramble format and ladies double peoria.
