What name is given to a modern graffiti artist’s personalized signature?
Mount Carmel School answered “tag,” and knocked out Saipan International School in the sudden-death tiebreaker round of Saturday’s 13th Annual Academic Challenge Bowl, to claim first prize.
For the tiebreaker, challenging questions would be given to the competing teams until one misses and the other is correct.
The graffiti question was the second question in this round, after a question about the solar system.
Hopwood Junior High School claimed third place, after SIS.
MCS, SIS, and Hopwood were the last three teams standing in last Saturday’s competition, held at Saipan Southern High School.
Schools competed and were eliminated through several rounds. Questions on social studies, science, math, or English, for example, got more difficult with each round.
The winning MCS team was made up of Jan Bobadilla, Alyssa Attao, Dayna Macaranas, Hyo Lim Cho, and Aldwin Batusin.
Eric Kiser, Michael Lee, Ruth Park, Alex Park, and A.J. Hudkins represented SIS.
Natalie Montano, Joseph Yanto, Michael Alovera, A.J. Samonte, and Limbert Guiao represented Hopwood.
Other competitors were Agape Christian School, San Antonio Middle School, Marianas Baptist Academy, Chacha Oceanview Junior High School, Grace Christian Academy, and Dandan Middle School.
