Marianas High Band Club hit the right note recently by joining the Marianas Visitors Authority’s Beautify My Marianas program.
Twelve members of the band and their chaperone met at The Shack in Oleai and picked up trash and debris along the beach to Quartermaster Road intersection.
“We collected various debris, which included empty cans, broken glass, articles of clothing, plastic, etc.,” said the group in their post-action report.
Participants were adviser Gina Aguilar, Diana Lopera, Marcy Ermitanio, Nickles Salmon, Janelle Agulto, Joyce Alfonso, Yuleen Huang, Kathy He, Justina Lee, Daniel Han, Kadi Camacho, Raymon Agno, and Angelica Racelis.
“Through the Beautify My Marianas program, groups like the Marianas High Band Club are able to support tourism by joining the MVA’s destination enhancement efforts,” said MVA Community Projects manager Martin Duenas. “Interested groups are encouraged to download an application off our website and contact marketing assistant Aggie Ketebengang, who coordinates the program.”
The “Beautify My Marianas” program offers $100 for each 1-mile cleanup in assigned areas. For more information or an application for “Beautify My Marianas” visit the MVA homepage at www.mymarianas.com. (MVA)
