Targeting a higher-spending visitor, the Marianas Visitors Authority co-sponsored the 2019 Global Tailor-made Travel High-end Summit on July 10, 2019, in Beijing.

The event invited the most professional tailor-made travel agencies, destination promotion organizations, airlines, and travel media to share previous experience, analyze successful cases and the trend of MICE and tailor-made travel industry. Over 500 participants joined the summit.

MICE refers to a niche of group tourism that targets meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions, and other events.

“By co-branding the Global Tailor-made Travel High-end Summit, we were able to enhance the Marianas’ image as a specialty destination,” said MVA managing director Priscilla M. Iakopo. “The summit has also provided us the opportunity to study the latest ideas in the design and promotion of tailor-made travel, review recent industry developments, analysis and trend forecasts for the sector. In line with sustainable tourism development, we are looking to attract a demographic of higher-spending visitors to our islands.”

Influential tailor-made travel agencies such as Unique Way, HH Travel, Ctrip Customized Travel, and Caissa delivered speeches such as: How Travel Becomes Life of a Certain Class, The Way of Sustainable Development and Innovation, Upgrading of Customized Tour Enterprises, How to Improve Efficiency and Reduce Cost of Customized Travel, To Chase and Follow New Consumption Trend, Customized Travel Enabling Upgrade of Destination Marketing, and more.

A Marianas promotion video was displayed to the audience several times during the course of the summit, Marianas guidebooks were distributed to each participant, and the MVA logo was featured as a co-sponsor in the official summit booklet. (MVA)
