MVA, partners host golf media and agents

Golf media and travel agents from China and Hong Kong visit Bird Island on Aug. 11,2019. as part of their familiarization tour, which was hosted by the Marianas Visitors Authority, HK Express, and Century Tours. (MVA)

To further promote the Marianas as a premiere golf destination, the Marianas Visitors Authority teamed up with HK Express and Century Tours to host a familiarization tour for golf media and agents on Aug. 8-12 on Saipan.

In line with this, eight participants from China and Hong Kong—representatives of Golf 007, TM Golf, Golf Song of joy, Rightway Tours Ltd, H.C. Patterson & Co., Ltd, Stanley Travel, Greenice Tours Ltd, and Enterprise Travel Service Ltd.—joined the 2019 Governor’s Tournament of Champions last Aug. 10-11, 2019.

“The participants highly commended Laolao Bay Golf & Resort for its beautiful scenery and excellent golf course,” said MVA marketing manager Thomas Kim. “They also expressed belief that, based on what they saw and experienced on Saipan, there is a lot of potential to attract more golf visitors to the Marianas.”

During the familiarization trip, the group inspected the Kingfisher Golf Links, Kensington Hotel Saipan, T Galleria by DFS, and Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan, where they stayed during the tour. The tour members also experienced other activities to help them better promote the Marianas, including a UTV tour, shopping at ARC, and dining at RufinaTropicals, Hard Rock Café Saipan, Fiesta Resort & Spa cultural dinner show, and Ladder Beach Restaurant. Iconic sites, including Bird Island, Mt. Tapochao, Banzai Cliff, Last Command Post, San Juan Beach, and Santa Lourdes Shrine, were also visited. (PR)
