In its effort to advance post secondary education in the CNMI, the Northern Marianas College Foundation has announced that its signature event, the 15th Annual NMC Foundation Open Golf Tournament, will be held on March 3 on the west course of the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort.
The NMC Foundation is committed to elevating higher education opportunities for CNMI students. All proceeds from the tournament will be used to support NMC’s mission.
“Throughout the years, the NMC Foundation Open has built a loyal following of golfers and supporters who are dedicated to helping the College,” said NMC president Dr. Carmen Fernandez. “The funds raised from the tournament will go toward supporting NMC’s mission to provide more opportunities for students and help them meet their educational goals.”
“We are extremely grateful to the companies that have already committed to sponsoring the tournament,” said NMC Foundation president Mary Tenorio. “We are excited to be announcing impressive prizes donated by our sponsors in the next few days.”
The entrance fee for the tournament is $100 per player.
There will be six separate flight categories: Championship, A, B, C, Seniors, and Ladies. First place winners in the men’s Championship, A, B, C, Senior, and Ladies Flights will each receive $500 cash, while $300 and $200 will go to the second and third place finishers, respectively. Hole-in-one prizes include vehicles from Atkins Kroll Saipan and Joeten Motors and cash prizes worth thousands of dollars from Pacifica Insurance and Marianas Insurance Company. The tournament will also feature many other items as raffle prizes like smart phones, hotel stays, meal gift certificates, and much more.
The NMC Foundation is also asking companies, organizations, and individuals interested in sponsorship opportunities to call 237-6833. Those interested in playing in the tournament can pick up registration forms at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort and at the NMC Cashier’s Office, where payments for the registration fee can be made as well.
