File photo shows participants from last year’s “Cash for College” workshop received one-to-one assistance in filling financial aid forms and received other services. The upcoming “Cash for College” workshop will be held on Tinian on Jan. 17, Rota on Jan. 24 and 25, and Saipan on Jan. 26.

Students who are looking for help in finding money to pay for college are encouraged to attend the upcoming Cash for College workshops hosted by Northern Marianas College.

Participants will be provided with personal, step-by-step assistance in completing college financial aid forms, focusing on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, CNMI Scholarship, Saipan Higher Education Financial Assistance, Tinian Municipal Scholarship, Rota Municipal Scholarship, and the TEACH Grant.

Workshop participants can also have their financial aid documents notarized and photocopied, free of charge.

The Cash for College event will be held on Tinian, Rota, and Saipan on the following dates:

Jan. 17: Tinian NMC campus, from 10am to 2pm

Jan. 24 and 25: Rota NMC campus, from 10am to 4pm on Jan. 24 and from 8am to 12pm on Jan. 25

Jan. 26: Saipan, Buildings N and O, NMC As Terlaje campus, from 9am to 12pm

Staff members from the college’s Office of Admissions and Records will also be present to provide information and assistance with the NMC application process.

Those who participate in the workshop will qualify to have their NMC application fee and placement test fees waived for the upcoming spring 2019 semester—a savings of up to $75.

It is recommended that workshop participants bring a valid form of identification, an official transcript from high school (at least three copies), a copy of 2016 and 2017 1040, a copy of 2016 and 2017 W-2 (if not filing), and proof of CNMI residency, including proof of continuing residency.
