Pelagio wins Las Vegas Night’s grand prize

It was a lucky night for Eduardo Pelagio, whose ticket won the grand prize at the Rotary Club of Saipan’s biggest fundraiser, Las Vegas Night, at the Hibiscus Hall of the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan in Garapan last Saturday night.

As the grand prize winner, Pelagio, of Marianas Variety, has a choice between a brand new 2020 Mirage G4 sedan or hatchback or $10,000 in cold hard cash.

Other winners include ticket holder QQ Car Rental (ticket number 08297) which won $1,000; Jeffrey Malitan (03372), who won $700; Jherto S. Inocensio (05272), who won $500; Kodep Ulodong (09934), who won $300; and Imelda R. Mendiola (01581), who won an Amazon Fire7 tablet.

“Thank you everyone, thank you very much for your support,” Rotary Club of Saipan president Marcia Ayuyu said as she wished the players good luck at the beginning of the games. “We have so many things that we want to do, and without you, we would not be having our projects in the community.”

Proceeds of the night’s event would fund the Rotary Club of Saipan’s community projects, which include providing meals to the elderly, donating dictionaries to schools, maintaining school bus shelters, putting up welcome signs for tourists at the airport, and so much more.

The Rotary will also use a portion of the money to build a playground for children with disabilities on the island.

While some players hit hard as they tried their luck on casino games such as blackjack, roulette, Texas Hold ’Em, three-card poker, and Baccarat, several members waited patiently on the sides for the raffle prizes. There was also a separate section for bingo games.
