Scoreless draw for TanHoldings FC, Kanoa FC in women’s soccer
TanHoldings Football Club and Kanoa Football Club ended their first game of the season in a scoreless draw in the Flores-Pee Luwal (Intermediate) Division of the 2022 Dove Women’s League last Friday at the Northern Mariana Islands Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.
Neither team was able to break through the other’s barriers as the clock ticked its final seconds, for the game result of 0-0.
Both teams are in Division B of the women’s league. The rest of the teams that make up the division include Matansa FC, Shirley’s FC, and Paire FC.
Division A includes Southern United FC, Paire FC, MPU FC, and Shirley’s FC.

Shirley’s FC 1
Matansa Football Club snatched the win away from Shirley’s FC, 2-1.
Vianca Mangulabnan from Matansa scored the game’s first goal to make it 1-0 in the 14th minute. Silence reigned in the next few minutes, but Shirley’s Werlly Breakenridge tied it up in the 25th minute.
It was still anybody’s ballgame with the second half yet to come, then in the 34th minute, Elna Curate of Matansa scooped the ball into the goal to steal the win away from Shirley’s, 2-1.
MPU FC 1, Paire FC 0
MPU Football Club managed to put a goal up against Paire Football Club for the win, 1-0.
In what seemed to be an almost scoreless draw, Dustian Faisao of MPU found the back of the net in the 37th minute for the W as Paire were silenced.
Paire FC 2, MPU FC 0
In Division A, Paire Football Club defeated MPU Football Club, 2-0, last Saturday.
Crickets chirped in the first half as both teams failed to score, then in the 38th minute, Michelle Masga scored the first goal for Paire. She was followed by teammate Pyper Liske-Clarke in the 50th minute, which was enough for the win as MPU had no chance at the goal.
Southern United FC 2, Shirley’s FC 0
Southern United Football Club blanked Shirley’s Football Club, 2-0, also last Saturday.
Haidee Mendoza scored the first goal five minutes into the game and the first half came and went without additional goals from either team. Keisha Deleon Guerrero put up the final and second goal 45 minutes in the second half which was enough for the win.
