The Saipan Golf Association’s 2024 January Ace of the Month Tournament is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024, at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort east course. Tee time is 8am and show time is 7:30am.

SGA will announce the 2023 Ace of Aces winners after the January Ace of the Month Tournament.

Jung Eun Teack won the December Ace last Dec. 10 at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort west course.

He actually finished tied in third place with a net 76 (84, 43-41), but won since first place Larry Deleon Guerrero (net 69) and Nick Sablan (net 74) already won during the season. Attorney General Edward Manibusan also fired a net 76 to tie Jung.

Jung now joins SGA 2023 Ace of the Month winners Ray S. Salas (January), Das Krishnan (February), Joe I. Sablan (March), Rick Kautz (April), Nick C. Sablan (May), Tony S. Reyes (June), Larry I. Deleon Guerrero (July), Edward C. Sablan (August), Ed Manibusan (September), Mariano Fajardo (October), and Tony Reyes (November).

In the closest to the pin competition last December, Joe I. Sablan won hole No. 7, while Alex Tudela and Nick Sablan topped holes Nos. 13 and 17.

In the longest drive, Manibusan brought the lumber in hole No. 3 with Tony Reyes doing the same thing in hole No. 18.

The Saipan Golfers Association will hold its January Ace Tournament this Sunday, Jan. 22. Show time is at 10am with tee off an hour later at 11am.

Returning and new members are welcome and encouraged to take part in the year’s first monthly tournament of SGA.
