The CNMI Weightlifting Federation is inviting all local sports associations to join them in the 1st Sports Fundraiser, a one-day fundraising event on May 5 at the Roundhouse in Garapan Central Park.
Sports federations will be given their spot and can have their own gimmick to attract potential donors and sponsors and help them in their fundraising efforts. The event will from from 8am to 2pm. The cost of the space is $20 and would go to the CNMI weightlifting team.
CWF secretary Jeanne Rayphand said the event would benefit their federation and other sports associations.
“We invite other sports federations to participate, in order to raise funds for their group. The plan is to have athletes and other officials participating to raise funds for their particular sports federation,” Rayphand told Saipan Tribune in a telephone interview.
“In a way, CWF would be raising funds while also helping other federations raise money for themselves. Any other profit or income they earn in their space would belong to them. CWF won’t have any part of it.”
The fundraiser wanted to focus on gifts for Mother’s Day, but won’t be limited for the said occasion. Local artists are also invited to participate.
Rayphand also advised sports federations that would participate to inform them in advance if they would need a table or if they would provide one for their own space.
“We expect to finalize posters and advertisement by Friday. So we request registrations and payment on or before Thursday, April 5,” added Rayphand.
Payment can be turned in to Rayphand at the Northern Marianas Protection and Advocacy Systems Inc. office in Gualo Rai.
