Star Water clobbered Coca-Cola, 101-57, in the curtain-raiser in the 2018 JP World Corp. Customer Appreciation Basketball League last Sunday at the Gillette Multipurpose Gymnasium.

Star Water posted the 44-point winning margin after pulling away in the second quarter.

The second period started with Star Water ahead by only 3, 22-19, before the lead ballooned to 19 after the squad scored 33 points in that frame. Edwin Santos made 8 points in the game-changing second canto, while Renz Maraan and RenRen Gaviola added 6 points each to hand Star Water a 55-36 advantage at the break.

When the game resumed, a new set trio stepped in for Star Water, with Kristian Itaas, Jay Mafnas, and Bobby De Leon combining for 15 points to pad their lead to 77-49.

Coca-Cola, after staying in contention in the first half, continued its fall, as the game progressed. It was held to 13 points in the third quarter and had its worst offensive showing in the fourth, making only 8 markers, helping Star Water get the lopsided victory.
