Play golf and maybe win a car, all while helping raise funds for the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library. What’s not to love about that?

To boost library services in the CNMI, JKPL is calling on golf enthusiasts to support the 4th Annual Friends of the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library Golf Tournament Fundraiser on Nov. 10, 2019, at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort’s west course.

And to make joining the tournament more attractive, Triple J Saipan, Inc. is donating a 2019 Hyundai Kona as a hole-in-one prize, making it a diamond level sponsor.

Sean Ficke, general manager of Triple J Motors, said that the company is “happy to be on the greens” with the 2019 Hyundai Kona. He encourages golfers “to register and swing away for this [hole-in-one] prize.”

The tournament will be a 2-person scramble (men and women), low gross, and double Peoria format.

“The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library is consistently resourceful with their outreach programs,” Triple J vice president of finance and administration Mike Sablan said. “On behalf of the Jones family and Triple J Saipan, Inc. our donation is a token of our appreciation and partnership for the development of our island’s youth.”

Library director Erlinda C. Naputi expressed appreciation to Triple J Saipan, Inc. for its continued support. “Triple J Saipan, Inc. continues to support the JKPL mission of enhancing the quality of life in our diverse community by providing opportunities for lifelong learning, by creating spaces and opportunities to connect and engage, and by fostering a love of reading and commitment to literacy,” Naputi said.

Aside from the 2019 Hyundai Kona, Triple J Saipan, Triple J Motors, and its affiliate businesses also donated to the library $2,000 in educational tax credit and $500 in gift certificates to the Triple J Restaurant Group & Triple J Truckload Store.

Proceeds from the 4th Annual Friends of the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library goes to support the resource and collection development, circulation materials, and the free programs and services the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library, the Bookmobile, the Tinian Public Library, and the Antonio C. Atalig Memorial Library provide for the CNMI.
